Replica Bovet Watches For Sale By Bovet

Cornishman John Arnold was one of the great names of 18th century watchmaking, the most important period in the history of mechanical watches. Arnold was an enormously talented watchmaker who played a significant role in determining longitude, becoming the leading supplier of marine chronometers to the Royal Navy, which used them for navigation. His name is now applied to a collection of low-volume watches produced in Switzerland and powered by exquisite, often highly complicated in-house movements. Did You Know? Arnold was great friends with Abraham-Louis Breguet and they shared many of their ideas, including a concept of Arnold's that became the tourbillon, patented by Breguet in 1801, two years after Arnold's death. As a mark of respect, Breguet fitted the first of these in a watch that he gifted to Arnold's son. That watch now sits in the British Museum.
